About Us
The company Carlos Soares de Mendonça & C.ª, Unipessoal, L.da (CSM) is a limited liability company that began operations on January 1, 1982.
The company is headquartered at Rua José Bensaúde, No. 42, Ponta Delgada, with its main activity being the wholesale sale of tobacco.
On July 4, 2019, Fábrica de Tabaco Micaelense, S.A., acquired 90% of the company’s share capital from the then partners, and on June 30, 2021, acquired the remaining 10% of the share capital.
Distribution
On June 29, 2021, CSM acquired the tobacco distribution business operated by a wholesaler on the island of Faial, and on June 1, 2022, two tobacco distribution business units on the islands of Terceira and Pico.
CSM employs about two and a half dozen employees and operates in the islands of São Miguel, Terceira, Faial, and Pico, the four most populous islands of the Azores, where about 90% of the archipelago’s population lives.
